Jonathan was educated at Rugby School and obtained a BA from Bristol University. He qualified in 1996 and became a Partner with Payne Hicks Beach in 2005.

Jonathan specialises in corporate acquisitions and sales; corporate re-organisations and restructuring; sports law, including sponsorship and endorsement, merchandising, media rights and event management; employment law, partnership law and intellectual property.
