George was educated at Eton College, Aix Université and obtained a BA from Birmingham University. He qualified in 1974. He was previously a partner with Beachcroft Stanleys from 1979 to 1997, and joined Payne Hicks Beach in 1997 as a partner.

George specialises in wealth protection through the creation and management of trusts, both onshore and offshore. He also advises on tax planning for inheritance tax and on wills, charities, powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. He has acted as an expert witness in tax and trust matters on awards for brain damaged children.
