Jonathan's practice is divided between advising clients on corporate transactions including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, reorganisations and joint ventures, and providing more general advice on a broad range of commercial contractual issues. He acts mainly for private companies of all sizes, including entrepreneurs and SMEs, and also focuses on all aspects of partnership law including limited liability partnerships (LLPs) and limited partnerships (LPs), frequently with an international dimension.
Jonathan's clients operate across a range of business sectors, but he has a particular interest in businesses whose branding and intellectual property rights are key assets. Examples of these include publishing, fashion and sports related businesses.
Recent work includes acting for a UK client on the acquisition of a leading children's book publisher for £15m; acting on the sale of a property investment company for £40m; advising a UK fashion house on the licensing of one of its brands on a worldwide basis; and acting for the majority partners on their collective retirement from a catering and conference business.
Jonathan is a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners and an associate member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
